Your Treatment: What to Expect at CIT Clinics

If together with CIT Clinics’ Wellness Coordinator, you decide to proceed with infusion therapy treatments, the clinic will collect the following information via online communication:

  • Your Contact Information
  • Health Questionnaire
  • Medical Records Release Authorization

If you meet the guidelines for ketamine infusion therapy, you will receive 6 infusion sessions over the course of two weeks. This timeline has been shown to be most effective at treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and drug/alcohol withdrawals. The results typically last for one to two months or more, at which time you return for a single “booster” infusion to keep your symptoms at bay. Some patients don’t require boosters and the determination is made on a case-by-case basis.

During the infusions themselves, some patients report changes in their vision, speech, and thought processes. They often describe feelings of dissociation from their body. It can feel like a sedated or dreamlike state. If unpleasant hallucinations or other sensations occur, CIT Clinics may decrease the infusion rate and/or administer medications to minimize these experiences. Regardless, throughout the entire process, patients are monitored by a team of medical professionals who are prepared for any possible (and very unlikely) emergencies.
